Our Creative Journey
My husband Dana and I started Art by Jodi and Dana in 2022. He had recently retired and began building birdhouses. I have been painting on and off since 2004 and thought if we teamed up we could have fun and create fun art projects. Dana is the “behind the scenes” guy, I would be lost without. He builds items and I paint on almost anything. We are small town people who believe in providing quality products at a fair price.
Items I Paint On
Art became my language when words failed me. What started in 2003 as a way to process pain and hardship has grown into a deeply personal journey of creating with love and intention. Every piece I make holds a story, a question, a hope—crafted not by machine, but by hand and heart. This isn’t effortless magic; it’s the result of showing up, struggling, and still choosing to speak through color and texture. Whether it's made for someone specific or simply for whoever feels called to it, each creation is a quiet offering—a reminder that anyone can make art, and that love can be a medium too.
Glass
Glass is a great medium in which to paint as it offers a unique look. Each piece of glass holds a multitude of opportunities for art expression. I have painted champagne flutes for a bride and groom, wine tumbler with a cardinal to offer remembrance of a spouse lost, Christmas ornaments to candle holders, birds, flip flops, flowers, and seascape scenes. This surface offers a diverse selection of giftware: Mother’s Day, weddings, showers, birthday and Christmas gifts to name a few.
Wood
Wood is a great surface as it is typically flat and very easy to paint. I have painted Christmas themed trays, gnomes, snowmen, sled ornaments, large sleds, and treasure boxes and wooden angel ornaments as a few examples.
Crockery
I love, love, love the way that one can absolutely transform a dull piece into a great focal point. The options are endless: scenery, flowers, birds, fruit are some of my favorites. The application for use can be anything from utensil holders, floral vases coffee mugs, and candy dishes.
Metal
This is the most challenging yet rewarding surface to paint. I have created beach scenes, Christmas scenes, florals, and scenes on various types of watering cans, buckets, water pitchers, beach pails, and mailboxes.
Canvas
Every-time I sit in front of a canvas I am faced with a blank slate in which to create. I do not know of anything that can’t be painted on a canvas. I have painted flamingos, lighthouses, flowers, scenes, even my rendition of Starry Starry Night!
Birdhouses
Discover the beauty and creativity of handcrafted birdhouses, each uniquely designed to bring joy and let your imagination take flight! Our birdhouses can be used as decor or for outside. Please note: birdhouses left outside will be at mother nature's mercy. We do put a protective seal; however, we can’t protect against the elements.

6–8 people (minimum 4 weeks notice)
Within 25 miles: free travel | Over 25: $0.50/mile
Kids welcome with adult supervision
I Provide:
Brushes, paint, water basins, paper towels, easels, canvases, trash liner and table cloth.
You Provide:
The food, beverages, and the space.
We accept Venmo, PayPal, Master Card, Visa, Discover or American Express for paint parties. Once your party date and time are confirmed, we’ll send you an invoice with all the details.
